TÜBİTAK Calls for Supporting Patent-Based Technology Transfer!

TÜBİTAK, on 14.05.2020; He made a call within the scope of Innovation Support Program to ensure that patented technologies developed in universities, research institutions and technology development regions are transferred to the industry.

In the call, TÜBİTAK included the following information: “In the Patent-Based Technology Transfer Support Call, universities, research infrastructures, technology development region companies and technology transfer offices are described as Technology Provider Institution. Customer Organization is the right of the Technology Provider Institution and national or international patents. with protected technologies in licensing or aiming to create economic value by getting the cycle path and Turkey was defined as resident capital company. joint application of a customer organization at least a technology Provider covered call organizations will be accepted. ”

Patent License – 2020 – 1 code given in this call; “Expenses and expenses related to the acquisition of services by the Customer Organization, which meet the conditions specified in the call announcement and which are protected by patents or patents to which the Technology Provider Institution is entitled, the licensing or transfer methods, and the service purchases from the Technology Provider Institution to apply these technologies.” expressions were included.

Within the framework of the call, the projects will be supported for a maximum of 60 months, and the upper limit of the support will be 60% for large-scale Customer Organizations and 75% for Customer Organizations with SME status.

It is stated that the support rate to be applied to the transfer or licensing of patents will be determined according to the following rates for each patent:

The basic support rate is 25%.

If the Customer Organization is SME, 15% is added to the support rate.

15% is added to the support rates in case the customer operates in the high technology sectors included in the Call Notice annex or the licensed patent contains one of the high technology IPC classes.

For patents registered at EPO, JPO, KIPO, CNIPA or USPTO, 10% is added to the support rate.

If the Customer Organization licenses or takes over at least two patents from one or more technology providers, 10% is added to the support rate.

For the implementation of the patents licensed or transferred under the project, a 75% support rate is applied for customer organizations of SME scale and 60% support for large-scale customer organizations for service and expenses related to training and consultancy works to be made by the Customer Organization from the Technology Provider Institution. The amount of training and consultancy services cannot exceed 25% of the total support.

Receiving applications via PRODİS: June 15, 2020 – August 31, 2020 (until 17:00)
Support start date: January 1, 2021
